For over a decade, Dr. Anuli Mkparu, MD, MBA, MSc. has been recognized as a physician and surgeon who practices compassionate, evidenced-based medicine. She is the Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Sunnyvale Wellness Foundation, Sunnyvale Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Clinic and Sunnyvale Wellness Center (all based in Pennsylvania). She is the Chief Medical Correspondent for The Source on WURD Radio 96.1FM/900AM, Philadelphia, PA and was the Inaugural Medical Director of Bucks County’s Street Medicine Program. She is a member of Black Women Orthopaedic Surgeons, which works to support and empower black women through mentoring, activism and education while advocating for health equity. She is also a member of Duke University’s Regional Board. She has received multiple awards including the American Orthopaedic Association Emerging Leader Award, an Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society Research Award, the American Medical Association Global Health Award & the New England Orthopaedic Society's First Place Resident's Research Award. She obtained her orthopedic surgery residency at multiple academic hospitals in Massachusetts, including Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital and the Shriner’s Hospital for Children. Dr. Mkparu completed her MD degree from the Duke University School of Medicine. She holds an MBA from Yale University School of Management and a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Columbia University. She completed her Bachelor’s in Chemistry & Molecular Biology from Texas Lutheran University. Her hobbies include dancing and traveling, and while she enjoys her work tremendously, her favorite activity by far remains spending quality time with her adorable twin daughters.

As a transformational physician executive, visionary operations leader and healthcare advocate, Dr. Alexander Kenton has a history of providing solutions to complex, “unsolvable” challenges for major Healthcare Systems. Since 2004, Alexander has served in key leadership roles for Mednax, a $3B physician management company serving 3 hospital systems. His appointments include Director of Advocacy and Government Relations for Mednax & Director of Methodist Hospital Systems in Neonatology. Dr Kenton has been appointed to multiple executive committees including Mednax Executive Committee, Special Committee of the Texas Pediatric Society on Breast Milk Promotion in Texas and Fetal Infant Mortality Review Committee for the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District Health Start Program. Dr. Kenton’s publications and abstracts have earned him both the Arnold J. Rudolph Award and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society Award. His global medical volunteer contributions include serving as Physician Advisor in Ghana, Africa and Volunteer Staff Physician and Medical Student. Dr. Kenton’s earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch of Galveston and completed a Fellowship in Neonatology. He completed an MBA at Yale School Management in 2021and Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He currently lives in New York with his wife and daughter and their dog, Foxy. When he is not working, Dr Kenton enjoys shopping, traveling, eating out and rowing to work off the calories he takes in while dining out.

Ms Onyinye Mkparu RN, MSN, MBA, OCN, joined the Sunnyvale Wellness Foundation team in 2021 as an inaugural member of the board. She brings over thirteen years of nursing experience in the acute, ICU and outpatient oncology practice settings. She has extensive leadership and research expertise and led multiple health care teams to build and establish optimal care delivery models, during the COVID 19 Pandemic. Ms Mkparu spent 8 years at the Johns Hopkins hospital growing as a nurse clinician, in various oncology settings. During this time she also began to serve as a Clinical Faculty for the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. She has served as a leader in multiple acute care organizations such as; MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and Sibley Memorial Hospital. She also serves as an Equity Partner at Sungroup Energy and is currently the Treasurer Emeritus of the National Capital Chapter, of the Oncology Nurses Association. Ms Mkparu received her combined Masters degree in Business and Nursing from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelors in Nursing from Duke University. A new mum to an adorable baby girl, she loves making an impact and uplifting the lives of others. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, dancing, culture and reading.

Zoma Foster has worked in the clinical research industry for 10+ years. She is active on the global stage, where she supports various aspects of clinical trial planning. Dr Foster ensures that clinical studies are positioned for success by using a data-driven approach, collaborating with key stakeholders, and keeping patients at the center of the planning process. She has managed several clinical studies in different therapeutic areas at clinical research organizations (CROs) and currently works at a global pharmaceutical company. Dr Foster is passionate about increasing awareness in clinical research, as well as increasing diversity, equity, and inclusiveness in clinical trials. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Houston and completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Houston. She enjoys traveling, volunteering in the community, watching movies (comedy) and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Uche Nwamara, JD, MA has served for the past 10 years as the General Counsel and Company Secretary of First Hydrocarbon Nigeria, an Africa-focused exploration and production company, with additional responsibility for the Company’s commercial, supply chain, and compliance functions. Following a stint in academia in the United States, Mr Nwamara worked at leading law firms in the United States and the United Kingdom, most latterly with the London office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he garnered significant experience in corporate law, advising private equity funds and other institutional clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and leveraged buyout transactions in multiple jurisdictions and across sectors. Mr. Nwamara is a Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Howard University in Washington DC, and holds a Master’s and Juris Doctor degrees from Harvard University, where he was an editor of the International Law Journal, and a recipient of the Harvard-Nigerian Fellowship for Distinguished African Scholars. Mr. Nwamara serves as Trustee/Director of EdVigor Inc., a US-based charity dedicated to the training of primary school teachers in Sub-Saharan Africa. He is an amateur violinist and pianist and enjoys reading historical fiction and doing word puzzles. He lives in Lagos, Nigeria with his wife and two children.

Ms. Stephanie Bariahtaris, MBA is a commercialization expert in the life sciences industry who has built a career bringing novel therapeutics to both US and international markets. Her specialization is developing health economic data and reimbursement approaches with the wide spectrum of payers – hospitals, commercial plans, Medicaid and Medicare, and single payer countries around the world. Having been in leadership roles at large pharmaceutical companies such as Merck and Novartis, start-up companies such as Trevena, Impel Pharmaceuticals and Milestone, she is adept as creating approaches to integrate clinical study data, provider and payer perspectives, along with patient access and advocacy. Ms. Bariahtaris holds an undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and an MBA from Duke University. She resides in Newtown, PA with her husband Steve having raised their three children in the area. Ms. Bariahtaris is an avid tennis player, is new to the sport of equestrian dressage, and is a big supporter of Philadelphia non-profits focused on preparing high school students who aspire to be first generation collegians.
